Delta’s Flight #60 from Rio was cleared to land on runway 27R at approximately 06:00 October 20. The 767 inadvertently landed on a parallel taxiway. It is just pure luck it wasn’t a disaster.

I was standing at the counter for gate 11 in the Atlanta airport when a tall, strapping man in his late fifties approached me. Out of the corner of my eye I could see he was holding a large bible.

AeroMexico Flight 576 was hijacked after leaving Cancun today. Unable to gain access to the cockpit the hijacking ended in Mexico City when Federal Agents re-took the aircraft. All 104 passengers were freed an hour after landing. Apparently the 5 hijackers were Bolivian Nationals seeking an audience with the President of Mexico.
